Growing Faith Groups

We have a number of groups located in and around the area. These have a different focus whilst being similar in providing fellowship, support and ongoing learning about Jesus:

We can put you in touch with a group leader who will be more than happy to invite you along to their group. Go along and try it out, you will be made very welcome.

Complete the Contact Form and one of the group leaders will be in touch with you to give more details about the group and the current programmes.
A monthly Young People’s Group meets on a Sunday evening at our church.  For further details see the section on Children and Youth Work.

House Groups

House Groups typically meet fortnightly. The groups provide a time of fellowship and friendship where members can share and learn together in a supportive, welcoming environment. We warmly invite you to join us for any of the meetings - you'll have a great opportunity to think about important faith and life issues. Why not try us out!   At the moment we only have one House Group, but are keen to see this number increase if there is a desire for alternative timings.

Day-time House Group:
We meet at 10.30am on alternate Thursday mornings, finishing around 12.15pm. We start with refreshments and a 'catch-up', followed by a time of prayer and then easy discussion. Topics are Bible-based and wide ranging.  We employ a variety of media, including video and audio clips.

Recent short series have included “Images of Christ”, “Sunshine & Showers; Prayer’s Beautiful Messiness”, Threads through Creation” and the letters of Peter.

All the meetings are in people's homes in or around Prestbury. As the venues change from time to time please always check
Pews News or the website calendar.

Short-Course Groups
We have occasional Growing Faith Groups that run for 4-6 weeks at different times of the year, typically at least during Advent and Lent or during the Summer.   In June 2025 we shall follow a series on The Gospel of John.  In Lent the study helped us identify with six key figures in the Crucifixion through “The Nail” by Bishop Stephen Cottrell.
Details of upcoming courses are listed in the website calendar and the regular news releases. Again, use the Contact Us if you wish to enquire further.

Prayer

Prayer is vital in our lives and the life of our church.

Prayer can be hard at times but we are thankful that we have been provided with The Holy Spirit as we read in Romans 8:  " The Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express". Sometimes it helps to write down our prayers but as confidence grows we find that prayer is a relationship and is simply talking to God - what a privilege!

We do not at present have a formal prayer group that meets regularly, but would love to resource one.  So, we pray individually.
We all need God's help and guidance and we need to pray for our world, our Church and all we know who are going through hard times.
