Privacy Policy

At Prestbury Methodist Church we collect different types of information about our users for the following main reasons:

  1. To provide a useful resource in the form of an online directory of users.
  2. To provide an interactive web site where email is used to communicate with the users.
  3. To provide a security mechanism whereby we can restrict content to certain groups of users.
  4. To help us to improve the service we offer.

Our principles

We are absolutely committed to protecting your privacy. Our policy can be summarised in one sentence: we will not share your information with others without your consent.

We have established the following two principles:

  1. We will respect your email privacy. You will only receive email from Prestbury Methodist Church in relation to areas you have expressly signed up for.
  2. We will not share any individual user details (including your email address) to any third party without your consent.

What information do we collect?

We collect information on our users through registration.

The minimum information we need to register a user is your first and last name and a password. We also ask for some further, voluntary information so we can provide a richer, more useful address book.

Who will have access to your information?

You have control over who is able to access specific items of information. By default your personal information will be visible to other authenticated users of the site. You can change these settings from your personal profile page. Your information will be used to build the online address book and show your birthday in the Prestbury Methodist Church calendar.

What else you should know about privacy

Remember to close your browser when you have finished your user session. This is to ensure that others cannot access your personal information and correspondence if you share a computer with someone else or are using a computer in a public place like a library or internet cafe. You as an individual are responsible for the security of, and access to, your own computer.

Please be aware that whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information over the internet that this information can be collected and used by others. In short, if you post personal information in publicly accessible online forums, you may receive unsolicited messages from other parties in return. Ultimately, you are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your usernames and passwords and any account information. Please be careful and responsible whenever you are using the internet.

Great you're here!

Prestbury Village

Welcome to the beautiful historic village of Prestbury and our Methodist Church in the heart of the village. You can expect a warm welcome; great worship; relevant preaching based in the Word of God and a friendly group of people ready to learn more about what it means to be a follower of Jesus.

Where and When
Click on Connect to find all the information about where, when and what happens at our church. We really hope you will enjoy joining in the many activities we have.

We serve tea, coffee and biscuits after the service in the meeting room. It is a great way to meet people, or simply take time to find your bearings. All refreshments are free and we hope you will be able to join us there.

To help plan your journey:
  • There is free parking available on the church site and in the Village Hall car park which is adjacent to our church. There is an onsite wheel chair and wheelchair access to the ground floor.
  • Disabled parking available outside the front door
  • A sound loop system in the main worship area
  • Baby changing facilities
  • Large print paper versions of worship songs (please ask)
  • Disabled toilet in the foyer.
What to expect:
  • During the Covid 19 closure all services are delivered on line. These are available in Resources
  • The morning at service at 10.30am follows the typical Methodist tradition with a variety of preachers, both clergy and lay preachers from the Circuit.
  • Once a month there is an All Age Worship where the band plays the music.
  • There is a monetary collection taken for our regular congregation and whilst you may wish to contribute, there is no expectation that you do so.
  • Wondering what to wear?, whatever you feel comfortable in is just great.
  • What about my children? - Children normally stay with their parent(s) or grown-up during worship.  We have a space for young children along with materials to play with with at the back of the church. We can also arrange to take your children to the children's play room during the service if you wish where activities appropriate to their age can be provided by a member of the church. For more information about what happens in the children's work please visit the Children& Young People page.
